IRON KING:)
Meghan Chase is a girl who blends into the background in most situations. She lives with her mother, stepfather, and younger half brother Ethan. Meghan's father simply vanished one day and Meghan has a fuzzy memory of what really happened. On the day that Meghan turns sixteen she starts to see things that aren't there and finds out her brother is kidnapped and replaced by a changeling. A changeling is a fairy offspring that is swapped for a human child. In order to save Ethan she must accept that Fey do exist and in doing so she will always see them as they truly are. Meghan's best friend Robbie is sweet, caring, light hearted, and protective. Robbie has been around as long as Meghan can remember. He also turns out to be Robin "Puck" Goodfellow and was sent by King Oberon to protect her. Their journey sends them to Faeryland where staying alive is a constant battle and finding Ethan is much more challenging than they thought. Meghan meets the Summer and Winter court along with a new court that never seemed to exist before. All faery tales must have a prince and Kagawa does not disappoint. In the Iron King we meet Ash, a dark handsome prince whose heart is as cold as ice. Ash's loyalties are to his queen but can Meghan thaw his heart? There is plenty of action and lots of romantic tension. From reading previous fey books I did want to yell at Meghan "stop making promises!" I like how Kagawa added modern technology to the fey world. Also if you are a fan of Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream than some of the characters will be familiar to you.
